BRF has worked with Advanced Aero Solutions to provide start-up capital in addition to business services and traditional incentives.

Barksdale Air Force Base, located in Bossier City, is home tomore than 14,000 active airmen and women with more than 815 departures annually. Global Strike Command is a MajorCommand of that United States Air Force that isheadquartered at Barksdale Air Force Base.

The Shreveport area has a labor force of more than 350,000 people within a 60-minute drive time. A student population of more than 40,000 is also located in the area including those studying Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance at Southern University Shreveport. Helicopter Flight Training Center, a part of MetroAvitation, is located in Shreveport offering state-of-the-art training solutions to manufacturers and operators.

The Shreveport labor shed has an advantage to recruit aerospace companies based on a review of industry purchases within the region and supply chain. Companies within these sectors would have an opportunity due to the demand for aerospace products. This is based on the following supply chain statistics:

  • $115.5 million Aircraft Manufacturing products are being purchased within the Shreveport metropolitan area. Currently, only $14 million of these products are being manufactured in the region, with over $101.2 million being imported from outside the region.
  • $29.4 million of Guided Missile and Space Vehicle manufactured products are being purchased within the Shreveport City metropolitan area. Currently, none of these products are being manufactured in the region, with over $29.4 million being imported from outside the region.
  • $11.2 million Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment manufactured products are being purchased within the Shreveport metropolitan area. Currently, only $1.1 million of these products are being manufactured in the region, with over $10.1 million being imported from outside the region.
  • $8.7 million Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts manufactured products are being purchased within the Shreveport metropolitan area. Currently, none of these products are being manufactured in the region, with over $8.7 million being imported from outside the region.
